Iris Prima PENHALIGON'S

IT: Questo profumo ha un significato speciale per me! Iris Prima ha l'odore del palcoscenico, del polvere e del legno, della dolcezza cerosa dei trucchi, di qualcosa resinosa forse della colla o della vernice dei decorazioni, del sudore e anche delle lacrime nascosti con l'estrema virtuosita' dietro la raffinatessa, sinuosita' ed eleganza dei movimenti...Ha l'odore di un mondo fiabesco, angelico che tale possa sembrare solo grazie ad un enorme lavoro.
C'e' l'iris e il bergamotto che rappresentano il lato della ballerina ammirata dal publico - puro ed elegante e c'e' il camoscio e il vetiver che ti portono alla sala prove dove tronano la tenacita' e il sacrificio...
Mi ricorda la mia gioventu' e per quello che lo amo cosi' tanto.
È stato creato nel 2013 da Alberto Morillas ed è dedicato al mondo della danza classica. Nel processo della creazione e nella ricerca hanno partecipato Lauretta Summerscales e Nathan Young dal English National Ballet.

ENG:This perfume is exactly what I hoped it to be – woody, dusty iris with the smooth leather and a shadow of sweetness.
I have studied ballet and I have participated on performances at the theatre until the age of 15, and I remember the atmosphere and the smell of this wonderful world …
There was something dusty, woody, with sweetness of make-up, but also something resinous, glue-like from stage decorations …
Ballet is an enormously hard work which brings ballerinas to seem weightless and angelic; the part of the exertions, sweat and toil remains always hidden. It wouldn’t be fair to spoil the mysticism of the classic dance showing how hard it really is.
The perfume that represents ballet must be refined, delicate, soft and elegant, but with a solid base. And IRIS PRIMA has all these characteristics.

Rouge Avignon PHAEDON

ENG: When I was a little girl I did not dream to be a princess as most of my playmates did. I dreamed to be a witch. Not the ugly one, humpbacked and with a big nose, but a beautiful little witch with long red hair. I used to wear long green velvet dresse with some golden ornaments, I decorated my hair with wild red roses and rode my black horse in deep woods. I dreamed to understand the language of birds, to speak with animals, and I used the power of herbs, trees and stones for make magic. I was free, rebel and happy...
When I smelt Rose Avignon, I smelt the perfume of this beautiful dream. It's a perfume of dark gothic rose, enriched with exotic hinoki wood, smoky vetiver and milky warm sandalwood, softened by sweet raspberry and cacao bud and rounded by black truffle. These notes are so well blended, it's not too dry and incensy, not too jammy sweet, not too rosy....Rouge Avignon enchanted me and took me back to my childhood's fairytale...

Rouge Avignon was created by Pierre Guillaume on 2013.

Description from Phaedon's site: "A Gothic composition, as opulent and dark as the shadow of the Papal Palace looming over nations and centuries… The carmine red of the papal stole is conjured with a fleshy, spicy rose facetted by ylang-ylang and raspberry. In the heart notes, waxed woods, cocoa bean, black truffle and earthy smoky vetiver lure us into the private apartments of the Supreme Pontiff. Gilt moldings and religious ornaments glint in the firelight while gray tendrils of smoke rise from a censer burning sandalwood chips mixed with musk and amber."

IT: Da bambina non sognavo di essere una principessa come la maggior parte delle mie amichette, ma desideravo di essere una strega. Comunque non una strega brutta, gobbata, con il naso all'acquila dotato di maestosi brufoli pelosi, ma una bellissima piccola streghetta ai capelli rossi e lunghissimi decorati con le rose selvatiche,  con un abito di velluto verde bosco ricamato con l'oro. Il mio amico, il cavallo nero, mi portava nei boschi profondi dove conobbi tutti i segreti degli animali e della natura selvaggia, usavo il potere dell'erbe e delle pietre per fare gli incantesimi... Ero libera, ribelle e felice ...
Qualche anno fa, quando ho sentito Rose Avignon di Phaedon (di Pierre Guillaume), ho sentito il profumo di questo bellissimo sogno. È un profumo di rosa oscura gotica, arricchita con del legno esotico di hinoki, il vetiver e del saondalo caldo e latteo; addolcito con il lampone succoso e del cacao polveroso; tutto arrotondato con il tartufo nero...
Rouge Avignon mi ha letteralmente incantato.

Milk Shake MALIZIA BON BON

IT: Era un pomeriggio freddo, qualche giorno prima del Natale. Avevamo deciso di fare un giretto in centro per ammirare l'albero e la città tutta illuminata. Non so perchè e non so come ma mi sono avvicinata al tavolino beauty di mia figlia, ho preso il suo "brutto anatrocolo" (io lo chiamo così) e l'ho spruzzato...ben 10 spruzzi!!! Ci siamo usciti e ci siamo ammalgamati nella massa di gente... Ma questo pomeriggio io non faccevo la parte della massa, mi si poteva trovare facilmente chiudendo gli occhi e annusando solamente. Ho ricevuto dei complimenti da tre persone diverse e mi hanno persino chiesto di indicare la profumeria dove comprare questa meraviglia...
Il profumo che portavo era MALIZIA BON BON MILK SHAKE - una fragrnza più dolce del dolce, zuccherosa e lattinosa, consigliabile per colmare gli attacchi di fame delle caramelle.
...E ora sono in pensiero... mi stanno bene i gourmand (che porto rarissimo) o mi stanno bene i profumi "cheap"??!!??...

LU' di LUDOVICA DI LORETO

IT: I profumi di Lù di Ludovica di Loreto sono una perfetta rappresentazione della tenacia, del  coraggio e della creatività di una giovane donna Italiana. Ludovica è nata a Roma e si è laureata in Scienze della Moda e del Costume all'Università La Sapienza di Roma dopo di ché ha proseguito gli studi nel London College of Fashion. Con la voglia di promuovere il Made in Italy e con l'esigenza di creare le fragranze per rivivere i frammenti della vita rimasti nel passato ha creato la linea Lù.
Sono contentissima di aver conosciuta Ludovica in persona e vorrei raccontarvi in poche parole le sue fragranze. Mi piace poi tanto l'idea della confezione da 15ml oltre al 100ml.

Le fragranze di Lù sono ben fatte ed eleganti. 
Donna - un profumo gentile, morbido, tenero e dolce. Un fruttato fiorito muschiato con le note di mandarino, lampone, mela, peonia, muschio, vaniglia...

Cerere - una tuberosa per tutti gli amanti di questo meraviglioso fiore narcotico. Con
le noce di cocco e fragola sembra quasi zuccherato, ricordandomi vagamente Tubereuse Couture di PG. Con la ottima persistenza!

Uomo - la freschezza di una colonia che quasi ti disseta. Gli agrumi legati ad una base leggermente ambrata. Si chiama Uomo, ma lo porterei molto volentieri anch'io, come lo faccio con Eau Sauvage o Dior Homme Cologne.

Mercurio - intenso, oscuro, orientale. E' un cuoiato speziato addolcito da fava tonka. Un profumo che accompagna bene un bicchiere di wischy e un sigaro.

Iuniper - So classy!!! Un profumo da vero gentleman! Aromatico, pepato, speziato e legnoso con le bacche del ginepro, pepe nero, noce moscata e il vetiver sulla base rassicurante dell'ambra e dela vaniglia.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS Van Cleef & Arpels

IT: L'ho scelto per stasera, ma lo scelgo anche a mattina, il pomeriggio e in realtà in qualsiasi momento. L'ho comprato per mio marito con l'intensione di rubarglielo, ma non mi è bastato, ho comprato pure un back up (e non succede spesso).

Midnight in Paris è stato creato nel 2010 da Olivier Polge e Domitille Bertier, è un profumo rassicurante e rilassante. Un morbidissimo resinoso cuoiato leggermente gommoso e talcato con accenti del thè nero e con la dolcezza della fava tonka.
Compratelo finché lo troverete! Il prezzo talmente basso è proprio un errore.

Flash Back OLFACTIVE STUDIO

IT: A Tallinn non potevo farmi il regalo migliore. A prescindere dal nome perfetto - Flash Back, il profumo cattura talmente bene gli odori della natura del Nord che mi ha semplicemente incantato. Tra le note ci sono il rabarbaro e la mela - freschi, croccanti e succosi, dirittamente dal giardino della mia nonna; il vetiver e il cedro legnosi, secchi, aromatici come i boschi profondi dove andavamo a raccogliere i funghi e i mirtilli, e la base morbida di muschio e d'ambra ricordando il calore della sua casa in campagna... il senso della libertà e la spensieratezza - che bel ritorno all'infanzia.

La fragranza è ispirata dalla fotografia di Laurent Segretier, dall'immagine del passato che ritorna nel presente. E' stata creata nel 2013 da Oliver Cresp.

Louve SERGE LUTENS

IT: Si può amare un profumo prima di averlo annusato e solamente per il suo nome? A me é capitato.

C’è un libro che mi è entrato nel cuore già nell'età dell’adolescenza. E’ stato scritto più di un secolo fa da un scrittore estone, August Kitzberg,  e si intitola “Il Lupo Mannaro” . È una tragica storia d’amore, ma con le idee profonde nascoste tra le righe. Si parla di una ragazza di cui la mamma fu uccisa sul rogo accusata di essere una strega e la ragazza a sua volta, mostrando troppo vivamente la sua solarità, l’amore per la natura e della libertà, era considerata una lupa mannara. Lei andò a vivere nel bosco con i lupi e alla fine fu uccisa nel branco di lupi dalla persona che amava.

La vita fu dura in questi tempi, parliamo del 1900. C’erano i padroni e c’erano i servitori, c’era la chiesa con le sue dottrine, ma c’era anche la ribellazione. E la genuinità, l’amore per la libertà e per la natura furono spesso considerati il Male che doveva essere combattuto.  Lei, la ragazzina ribelle e selvaggia, diceva però:

” Il lupo non uccide l’altro lupo, ma l’uomo l’altro uomo si.”

Così il Lupo mannaro, o anche solamente il Lupo, divenne il simbolo della libertà e della giustizia. E a me piacciono i lupi e mi piace LOUVE ( "lupo" in francese). Un profumo di mandorla dolcissima zuccherata  fin livello di non sopportarlo, ma soffice e rassicurante con un cuore amarognolo. E’ una fragranza contrastante. Quando la sentì per la prima volta mi portai il sorriso sul viso e pensai – ma certo, è questa la vera anima di un Lupo, o una Lupa!  Se solo si avesse la possibilità di guardare un lupo negli occhi si troverebbe lo stesso sguardo dolce e fedele di un cane ma con le scintille che solo la vita nella libertà ti può dare.

Odors are like small ghosts - we cannot see them, we cannot touch them, but they exist and we detect them with any breathe. And there are Noses – masters of perfumery able to collect primary aromas in evocative, enjoyable combinations calling them perfumes and giving us the possibility to choose odors to inspire.  We may easily live without perfumes, but for me it’s just one of things that appears reverse. Perfumes are both – superfluous and essential. We need emotions that actually are the real force that keeps us alive and colors our lives. And here I find myself with these little ghosts – perfumes - offering me an endless number of them. Perfumes are my therapy. They heal me from sadness and melancholy; they work as an injection of energy or an sedative, they may be a compliment I need to hear, a ray of sun that brings a sunshine and happiness to my life and a touch of sensuality or transgression, if I want.

We cannot choose whether to breathe or not, but we can choose the fragrance that surround us and enters from our nostrils. That’s why I write about perfumes. I love testing fragrances and have done it since I remember. Any of them have something to say and some, the best of them, are able to tell us stories. All my memories are connected with smells, both – pleasant and unpleasant and I remember persons by perfumes they used to wear. My reviews and opinions are subjective, but I’m glad if my writings help someone to orientate in this wonderful crazy World of Perfumes.
